  2. I said: "isn't a baseball mitt connected at the thumb?" but misspelled mitt and I didn't want to be a hypocrite.

  3. A typical mitt, perhaps.

But this drawing is from my upcoming book "Billy's God Awful Glove" about a boy whose family could only afford to buy him a rejected mitt, and every time he would try to catch the ball he'd miss, and everyone would laugh at him and say things like, "What's wrong Billy? Is there a hole in your glove???", and Billy would say, "Yes actually, there is." But all the kids with their good baseball mitts couldn't hear him because they were laughing so hard, but it was good because Billy learned that it's okay to screw up, which was an important lesson, a lesson he relied on frequently when he grew up and became a famous artist.
